Mike Hodson

Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#118224)

When life knocks us down, sometimes we need support to get back up. If you are reading this, my bet is you are looking for that kind of support right now, either for yourself or someone you love.

Hello, I’m Mike and I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. My passion lies in helping clients overcome their challenges, bravely set new goals, and reach a place of deeper understanding and self-awareness. I have a connection to individuals who may feel nervous, scared, or uncertain about the therapy process, because I've been there myself—many times.

Flexibility is a cornerstone of my practice, and I offer both daytime and evening appointments, either in-office or via telehealth, to accommodate your schedule and preferences. To ensure that we are a good fit, I also provide a complimentary 15-minute consultation. This gives you the opportunity to assess whether I am the right therapist for you. I am genuinely excited about the prospect of meeting you and embarking on this therapeutic journey together.

My Approach

Prior to pursuing a career in therapy, I spent nearly 25 years in church ministry. In that unique journey, I came to understand that growth and healing are messy. They don't always conform to our preconceived notions. This insight has led me to reject the idea of a "one size fits all" approach to therapy. Each one of our stories are unique, so our therapeutic approach must be unique too.

I draw from evidence-based therapy models that blend Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), with a strong emphasis on mindfulness. While theories are invaluable tools in crafting a healthier life, not every tool is universally effective. My commitment is to collaborate with you in discovering the approaches and techniques that genuinely resonate with your unique circumstances.

I aim to create a safe and compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Together, we’ll navigate the path towards personal growth, helping you regain balance, resilience, and a stronger sense of self. Life has its share of ups and downs, but with the right support, we can face these challenges and emerge stronger.
